Virtuozzo Hybrid Server or Storage license fails to update automatically

Symptoms

Virtuozzo license fails to update. The following errors may occur:

Licensing Server Unreachable: Unable to connect with licensing server.
Please make sure that your network allows communication to ka.virtuozzo.com:5224.

Couldn't resolve host name

SSL certificate has been expired

Can't connect to ka.virtuozzo.com:5224 (Timeout)

Cause

The product tries to connect to the license server ka.virtuozzo.com at port 5224 to update the license, but it cannot establish a connection.

Resolution

1. Check that the name ka.virtuozzo.comcan be resolved.

2. If any of these servers are behind a firewall, please ensure that your servers are allowed to connect to ka.virtuozzo.com. This can be checked with:

# nmap -P0 -p5224 ka.virtuozzo.com

# telnet ka.virtuozzo.com 5224

# traceroute ka.virtuozzo.com 

# openssl s_client -connect ka.virtuozzo.com:5224 2/dev/null | openssl x509 -noout -dates
